Emerging Publications
According to Wikipedia, "The word publication means the act of publishing, and it also means any writing of which copies are published, and any website. Among publications are books, and periodicals, the latter including magazines, scholarly journals, and newspapers."
Today, getting published is getting easier and easier. The internet has lowered the cost of getting published. The everyday person can get published online by publishing a website or blog. However, to be competitive in the publishing world of the top magazine and book publishers, getting your book to the bookstores is more difficult. Unless you already have well-known name or brand, getting published is extremely competitive.
Go to any bookstore, online or in your local shopping center and with the plethora of options for books, the ability to not only get published, but sell is not an easy task. Published books that do well, many times are ones that receive tons of marketing and have made best seller lists on reputable news publications, like The New York Times.
