Apple’s Best Phone
Apple, Inc. released the iPhone 3G in 22 countries last July 11, 2008. An upgraded version of the 2007-released iPhone, it sold approximately 1 million units during its first three days of sales.
The iPhone is a multi-touch screen, Internet-connected multimedia smartphone that functions in a variety of ways: as a camera, a phone, a portable media player, and a visual voicemail. It is also capable of text messaging. The iPhone 3G is the improved version; it features faster data speeds. The 3G version also boasts of additional features.
One of the unique features of the iPhone 3G is that it uses a new form of technology called High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, or HSDPA, which allows faster data download/transfer via the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System, or UTMS.
It also has multi-tasking features that allow users to talk on the phone while simultaneously checking emails or searching for data on the Web. Its unique worldwide cellular communication standards allow users to stay connected anywhere in the world. If the user happens to be in an area with no available 3G network, the iPhone will automatically connect to GSM and EDGE for calls and data transmission purposes respectively.
The iPhone 3G’s Accelerometer is a feature which is capable of detecting every movement made whenever the iPhone’s orientation is changed from portrait to landscape so that the display changes. This enables the user to view web pages or photos in their entirety.
Aside from its Bluetooth 2.0 feature, the iPhone 3G also has an audio jack and can last up to five hours of talk time. Another interesting iphone feature is its Multi-touch control, which has a predictive keyboard and allows the user to scroll through photos and go through various albums by way of Cover Flow.
Another handy feature of the iPhone 3G is the GPS or Global Positioning System. The GPS technology gives the user the specifics about his location in a snap.
The iPhone 3G is built with minute ultra-intelligent sensors capable of automatically adjusting the screen. An ambient light sensor is able to render the display brighter depending on the surrounding light conditions.
Apple iPhone 3G’s keyboard is software-based and can therefore provide support for typing up to 21 languages with just a tap of the finger. It works like magic; it appears when needed and disappears when not in use.
